Why We Made "Founding Fathers: Modern Metal"

They didn't inherit a nation. They had to imagine one.

The men and women of America's founding generation lived in a world where crossing an ocean took weeks, information traveled at the speed of a horse, and challenging the most powerful empire on Earth wasn't merely dangerous. By every conventional measure, it bordered on madness. Success would require extraordinary courage, extraordinary sacrifice—and, many of them believed, the hand of Providence.

And yet they did exactly that.

Founding Fathers: Modern Metal celebrates the thinkers, leaders, diplomats, soldiers, inventors, and wonderfully stubborn people who helped turn an unlikely rebellion into a new nation—and then faced the equally difficult task of figuring out how that nation should work.

Their ideas were debated with ink and parchment. Their battles were fought with muskets, cannon, and steel.

We thought they deserved an equipment upgrade.

This collection takes real figures from America's founding era and drops deliberately impossible technology into their stories—modern weapons, futuristic machinery, and the occasional piece of equipment that would have made King George's day considerably worse.

The technology is fiction. Their accomplishments, ideas, courage, and influence are not.

Behind the absurdity is genuine admiration for people who attempted something remarkable. They were human beings, not marble statues—complicated, imperfect, sometimes contradictory, and separated from us by more than two centuries. But their arguments about liberty, government, representation, rights, responsibility, and the proper limits of power helped shape a political experiment that continues today.

Their imperfections don't erase what they stood for; perhaps they remind us that we don't have to be perfect to stand for something worth defending either.

They disagreed fiercely among themselves about what liberty required and what the nation they were creating should become. But disagreement did not make the larger undertaking disposable. Again and again, they argued, compromised, reconsidered, and found enough common ground to keep building.

That may be one of their most useful reminders for us today: unity has never required unanimity.

Some of their names are known everywhere. Others deserve another introduction.

We hope these designs make you laugh, make you curious, and maybe send you looking for the real story behind the person carrying the historically impossible hardware.

Because history doesn't have to feel distant to be taken seriously.

Sometimes it just needs better firepower.
